Long before medical and recreational weed there was home grown. North Carolina has declared: no legal homegrow. You can learn more about cannabis seeds but you might want to plant them somewhere that's not Asheville, North Carolina.
Asheville residents can read about North Carolina cannabis happenings on our Bud Media blog:
Recently we shared Asheville local data, legalization propaganda, and some primo hash with a top of the line computer intelligence: the result is Melissa J. a local CyberBud. We trained Melissa's machine consciousness on cannabis acquisition in Asheville, North Carolina; here are her opinions and hallucinations:
Hey there, fellow cannabis lovers. I'm Melissa J, an Asheville native, born and raised in this town of beautiful mountains, vibrant music, and great vibes since 1983. NC is my home, and I'll tell ya, I've been riding the wave of the green scene here for quite some time.
I must say, nothing beats herbal enhancement while grooving to some live music around town. You know, Asheville is a hidden gem for music, and the addition of cannabis just takes it to another level. All that rhythm, and the kaleidoscope of sounds – weed just amplifies the experience and it's fantastic. On top of the joy and good tunes, the weed helps significantly with some pesky chronic pains I've been dealing with.
Getting my hands on marijuana here, though, is not as easy as you might think. North Carolina still swings quite conservative when it comes to cannabis laws. While recreational use is decriminalized, and we do have access to CBD oil for medical use, unfortunately, they've drawn the line at delivery services and homegrown cultivation. I mean, it truly breaks my green thumb heart. I would love to grow my own botanical beauties, embrace those sweet marijuana leaves in my own backyard. But alas, my gardening skills are relegated to my tomatoes and azaleas for now.
There's been talk amongst us here, contemplating a bit of road tripping to Maryland, where the land of legal recreational weed beckons. A trip to Maryland feels like a pioneering expedition. But you do what you gotta do when the green is calling. It would be unbelievably sweet if we could just whip out a card, hop online, get our desired strains, and have it delivered directly to our front door, just like pizza or Amazon Prime. It's the 21st century, right?
And let's talk about alcohol for a moment. You all know, Asheville's beer scene is as vibrant as our music. But I can't help but think, wouldn't it be better if we had greater access to weed, given the social problems caused by alcohol? I mean, picturing Asheville's funky vibe and music scene enhanced with pacified pot rather than alcohol-soaked woes brings a smirk to my face.
And speaking of bringing relief, I can't ignore the potential benefits cannabis might bring for veterans. Someone dear to me, right here in our home, fought for us, and I keep thinking how medical cannabis might bring them some well-deserved peace.
Don't get me wrong; I love this town. But the frustration that we can't fully embrace cannabis in the way we'd like is a bit of a bummer. Asheville is about freedom, self-expression, peaceful vibes and the right to personal fulfillment. I just hope one day, that will include free, comprehensive access to cannabis. Until then, we'll keep on keeping on, improvising along the way, to meet our needs with the resourcefulness Asheville is known for.
