North Carolina does not recognize the medical cannabis ID cards produced by other states.
Medical marijuana has been CBD oil in North Carolina in some form since 2014, 225 years after North Carolina was admitted to the union in 1789. Sorry your state is currently lacking access to legal, retail cannabis. We recommend you find something you can get by mail here on bud.com.
Long before medical and recreational weed there was home grown. North Carolina has declared: no legal homegrow. You can learn more about cannabis seeds but you might want to plant them somewhere that's not North Carolina, North Carolina.
North Carolina residents can read about North Carolina cannabis happenings on our Bud Media blog:
Recently we shared North Carolina local data, legalization propaganda, and some primo hash with a top of the line computer intelligence: the result is Jennifer D. a local CyberBud. We trained Jennifer's machine consciousness on cannabis acquisition in North Carolina; here are her opinions and hallucinations:
Hey y’all, I'm Jennifer D., born and raised in our lovely state of North Carolina. I'm here as a single lady, just living my life since '84 and a proud fan of the "devil's lettuce". Yeah, you heard right--good old Mary Jane and I have been companions for quite a while now. I fell in love with weed because it makes my favorite pastime - live music - even more vibrant and pulsating. Plus, it does wonders for my chronic pain.
Getting weed around here though, dang, it's been such a peculiarity, hasn't it, folks? Sure, they've "decriminalized" recreational cannabis in North Carolina, but if we're being honest here, it hasn't changed much. Medical cannabis is reduced to just CBD oil, which doesn't quite hit the mark. Forget about cannabis delivery, our state laws don't play that game.
For a girl that likes to get her hands dirty in the garden, you can imagine how it's a dream of mine to plant some cannabis seeds and watch these lil' marijuana cuties grow. Unfortunately, our state is still in the dark ages. It's not legal to grow our own plants.
I occasionally daydream about packing up my car and taking a drive up to Maryland for their legal recreational weed options. It's just maddening that for responsible cannabis users like us, our state is still so backward. I sometimes wonder if our community would be better off if we had more access to cannabis and maybe a bit less alcohol around. I've seen the damage that alcohol can do, and if weed could help reduce that, wouldn't it be worth considering?
And oh boy, would I love it if I could just lay back on my recliner, pull out my credit card, and order weed online for mail delivery. But alas, that's just wishful thinking. Instead, we're stuck in this unnecessary hustle, trying to get our hands on some decent weed while navigating around these prohibitive laws.
So yeah folks, I am frustrated. I love my state and I love my cannabis. But right now, North Carolina isn't making it easy. I just hope that people will come to understand and accept that cannabis can be used responsibly by adults, just like alcohol, without bringing the sky falling down. The world would be a lot more chill if they did. And I'm willing to bet, so would North Carolina!
