Long before medical and recreational weed there was home grown. North Carolina has declared: no legal homegrow. You can learn more about cannabis seeds but you might want to plant them somewhere that's not Cary, North Carolina.
Cary residents can read about North Carolina cannabis happenings on our Bud Media blog:
Recently we shared Cary local data, legalization propaganda, and a packed bowl with a artificially-inseminated computer intelligence: the result is Crystal B. a local CyberBud. We trained Crystal's machine consciousness on cannabis acquisition in Cary, North Carolina; here are her opinions and hallucinations:
Hey y'all, I'm Crystal B., born and raised here in beautiful Cary, North Carolina. So a little about me, I love my family, my garden, and being outdoors - did a whole lot of sports growing up, and y'know, that comes with a few bumps and bruises along the way.
Oh, and something else about me - I like my weed. Helps me take the edge off after a stressful day and works wonders on these old sports injuries.
However, here in North Carolina, things ain't as easy as I wish they were when it comes to cannabis. Sure, they've decriminalized it, and you can get CBD oil for certain medical conditions. But for folks like me who could really benefit from the full plant, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I'm a gardener at heart. I look at those beautiful sativa, indica, and hybrid strains and it makes my green thumb itch, y'know? I've thought about buying cannabis seeds and growing my own plants. The idea of nurturing them from tiny seeds to beautiful, bud-bearing plants appeals to me. But wouldn't you know it, that's deemed illegal here too.
And because North Carolina hasn't hopped on the recreational cannabis bandwagon like some other states, folks here find themselves considering the trek to Maryland to stock up. That's a good long drive, y'all, and with the hassle and potential risks, it really makes you think - wouldn't it just be easier and safer if we could go down to our local shop and pick up what we need?
I've given plenty of thought to the impact that increased access to cannabis could have here in Cary. We all know the problems that alcohol can bring, and I can't help but wonder if cannabis might offer a safer, gentler substitute.
Ideally, I would love to be able to just order from the comfort of my home. Right now, weed delivery isn't permitted here. Wouldn't it be chill though, to be able to whip out your credit card, place an order online, and have it shipped right to your door?
It's a bit frustrating, folks. We've taken some baby steps with decriminalization and CBD oil, yet we're still far behind when it comes to making the full benefits of this plant accessible to everyone. For a state that takes such pride in its agriculture, it just feels like we're missing out on a big opportunity.
I hope we can continue the conversation and raise awareness about cannabis in our community, making it less about 'getting high' and more about its potential benefits. And one day, hopefully in the not-so-distant future, we dare to hope that Cary will become an even chiller place to live, where we can all enjoy a little more greenery in our lives.
