Snoop Dogg Smoking Weed at The White House

It's Snoop D.O. Double G! This 50-year-old West Coast rap icon continues to remain relevant as one of the most talked about musicians in the industry. Snoop has not only made a lasting impression on the music industry but also on the cannabis community.

Firing one up with the President

In his song “Gang Signs,” released earlier this year from his latest album From tha Streets 2 tha Suites, Snoop eludes he has toked up with former US president, Barack Obama. Snoop raps on the new track: “Still sippin’ gin and juice while I’m smoking marijuana/ I bet you never blew with Obama.”

Barack Obama, who is on record as a former cannabis consumer, revealed that he was kicked out of Disneyland for smoking with his friends when he was in college. Obama retells the story at the start of a rally for Democratic congressional candidates, explaining he was smoking cigarettes, but appears to wink. Many took this as a roundabout confession of getting kicked out of Disneyland for smoking cannabis.

Obama has admitted to smoking weed in his younger years in his memoir Dreams From My Father, but denies smoking in his adulthood. So was Snoop Dogg really smoking blunts with Obama? Although many rap lyrics can be taken with a grain of salt and this lyric can solely be chalked up to entertainment and shock value, it does paint quite the interesting picture.

Blunt confessions

During CNN’s New Year's Eve 2021 broadcast Snoop admitted to smoking in numerous public places such as the CNN building in Hollywood, an NFL game, award shows, and yes--even the White House. In an episode on his online show “GGN: The Double G News Network” Snoop Dogg retells the hilarious tale of smoking weed in the White House bathroom to American television host, Jimmy Kimmel. Although insinuated that President Obama was not present, his absence does not take away from this humorous tale.

Snoop Dogg claims that while in the White House he asked “the alphabet boys” (FBI/ CIA) to use the bathroom. After telling them that he usually lights something or has a cigarette to “get the aroma right” while doing his business, they suggest that he can light a piece of napkin. In the retelling of the story Snoop states he replied, “I’ll do that.” And the napkin was this,” as he points to the blunt in his hand that he has been smoking throughout this segment.

While it still remains uncertain if Snoop actually did light up with the former US president, he continues to blaze (pun intended) his way to the top. Snoop Dogg closed out 2021 with a year end special with Kevin Hart and will perform at the Super Bowl 2022 halftime show with Dr. Dre, Eminem and others. Snoop Dogg continues to dominate the media since ‘92 proving that stoners can be successful.
