 Mission Description
Making and publishing short form videos online is kinda mindblowing. It's an amazing amount of media power to be able to weild! And just in the last few years.
Once we are casual with these kinds of tools, we reinterpret our media surroundings. Making video about video. Making video that is video; not simply theater in front of a camera.
Funny thing is - that kind of literacy is still not completely legal. Is it okay to take a movie you like and cut it up and post it online? Is it okay if it has a different soundtrack? What if it's a hundred movies mixed up into one?
There's an early 2008 event about DIY video happening at USC, a school in Southern California. Some notable video pioneer/fugitives will be sharing their work and talking about the borderline communities of media recyclers.
This mission follows some of those folks to get a peek at what they're doing.
